During the course of my year with TGC I looked at most of the tools I have listed below. Fred Czarra's Global Education Checklist proved to be the most compelling for me because it went beyond the confines of my classroom, and if utilized fully, asks a whole school and district to assess what and how it is doing in the realm of global education and competencies. I have yet to encourage my school to use it completely but hope to in the future.
The Global Education Checklist by Fred Czarra is a tool for all people associated with education from classroom teachers to district administrators. It is a comprehensive tool allowing individuals and organizations to identify their strengths and weaknesses in global competencies.
The Asia Society have a comprehensive document Educating for Global Competence: Preparing our Youth to Engage the World. This document includes significant examples of how to incorporate and modify teaching strategies and content to increase the global awareness and competency of students in the classroom. Pages 102-108 include matrices for different subjects.
Oxfam's Education for Global Citizenship: A Guide for Schools, is a comprehensive document that details the why, what and how of global education and includes rubrics of competencies for correlated to age levels.
The John Stanford International School in Washington have created their Checklist for Teaching for Global Competence.
The Metiri Group with cooperation from NCREL have created the Global Awareness Rubric, giving a overview of competencies.
The Association of American Colleges and Universities created the Intercultural Knowledge and Competence VALUE Rubric.
